Photos from Bob of Mexico City. Check out the dense housing on the outskirts of Mexico City and the old volcano!
18000' volcanos as Bob was leaving Mexico City.

Here's the scenery on our drive to the trailhead yesterday. It was spectacular! Rock cliffs covered in green lichen with mountains beyond displaying snow. It did not feel like we were just an hour from Phoenix!
Here's our group of 10 (minus Rich & Kata…and 3 dogs too). It was very cold at the trailhead & we bundled up!
Once hiking uphill it didn't take long to start shedding clothes. Can you make out Kata & Janet?
Snow on the trail!!! We live in Phoenix & get excited about that! Aaron & Jenn with Jay, Sally & Charley the dog!
Cute pic of Laurel with 4 Peaks in the distance.
This is the photo of the day! Love this lone tree, the snow, the mountains & sweet Charley with her mom, Sally! :-)
Around 1pm we had not reached the waterfall yet so 3 of us decided to turn around (Sally, Janet & I). With the pace we were doing, plus the muddy steep trail, we chose to miss the waterfall to be sure we could make it back to the car by dark.
The rest of the crew powered another hour up stream to see Reavis Falls! So cool. Nice work guys!! That water is flowing strong from all the recent rain!
Funny how Sally, Janet & I had the 3 dogs. Harley, Bobby Dazzle & Charley were loving this day! A rare sitting moment as they wait for a treat from Sally. :-)
While it would have been nice to see the falls (we'll be back) there was no disappointment in this day. We loved our leisurely hike out and soaked in the beauty.
Back at our favorite tree with our favorite canines.
I just really enjoyed visiting & getting to know these wonderful women more!

My Garmin quit but I'm guessing we did around 15 miles. Us & the dogs were back to the car around 3:15pm & headed back to Phoenix. The dogs were sacked out the whole way! :-) The waterfall crew made it out by dark too (I believe by 5pm). Thank you, Rich for organizing this fun adventure!!
I definitely want to bring Bob back here. If only I can arrange for the beautiful snow to be in place too! What a treat!

"How you live your days is how you live your life." I really like this quote! I admire these friends for how they live their days! Passionate, adventurous, successful, generous, volunteers, fit, funny, spiritual, loving, talented & the list goes on. How fun to spend time talking & walking in such beautiful places near home! 10 of us went on a 15 mile hike in the Superstition Mtns. Bonus was the large amount of snow on the mtns around us & on parts of the trail.
Rich led us on this hike to find Reavis Waterfall. With all the rain he knew it would be spectacular. This view is from the trailhead; Apache Lake with snow covered Four Peaks as the backdrop.
Janet, Sally & I plus our 3 dogs didn't make it to the waterfall (we feared our pace would risk not being out by sundown). We turned around at the creek & had a leisurely hike back. The rest of the crew saw the powerful falls & still made it back with daylight left. Tomorrow I'll post a few more photos including the falls. It was an amazing adventure for everyone! PS: The dogs were great buds & had the best day in the cold temps & wide open spaces.

Me & some cool guys (the coolest being my husband of course!) :-).
We're on top of Camelback Mountain which was the 1/2 way point of our Bike/Hike/Bike workout this morning.
12 of us set out @ 7am. It was a bit cold but we had blue skies after 5 straight days of rain.
Rick, Bob, Daniel, Me, Lane, Greg, Dave
Here's 3 more of our group that made it to the top.
Jonn, Marty, Marco
The casual hike quickly turned into a race to the top of the mountain. Heehee. Here we are standing on top of a natural made podium. Lane fought hard for 1st (middle); I pushed all I could for 2nd & Daniel worked it up the rocks for 3rd. Tough competition!

Christmas celebrating is done but our Christmas card is just beginning. I love to draw our year in review with stick figures but I'm routinely missing the Christmas card deadline. Aiming for Valentine's cards now.
PS: I'm still messing around with the blog title. I Changed from "Martin & Me" to "Jane's Journal" and now to "Picture This". Still not sure on the title. Ideas...anyone?!? Also thought of "Plane Jane" (get it?…I married a pilot; < plane) :-) or "Creative Living" or ????

Martin: Adrian noticed the American Airlines jet while at work during the first week of services into Sydney from LA. Sydney skyline in the background.
Me: It's raining cats & dogs & Harley's on the lookout for the cats. :-) Bob is home again so we're heading to a movie on this rainy afternoon.
