Me: Bob had an 18 hour layover in San Francisco yesterday. His folks were able pick Bob up at the airport and they enjoyed the day together. Photo of Bob and his dad in front of their house before Bob heads to work with American.

Me: Don't let the smile fool you. I am mad! Waiting for x-rays on my hand and shoulder after crashing at mile 50 of Tour de Mesa. Thanks (not) to the rider in front of me who lost control of his bike when reaching for his water bottle in a group of 100 racers going 30+ mph. He caused the crash resulting in 7 riders with injuries and broken bikes. Ugh! It was fun until then! Strong ride with Tim Porthouse and Vitesse. Hoped for a different ending but I will mend.

Update after x-rays: Nothing broken! Wahoo! Still mad at the careless racer but incredibly thankful for being "ok". I had hesitated to do this event because of it's reputation for crashes - so I was being extra careful and staying near the front of the peleton all morning (which usually keeps one safe). Was having a great race until the accident. Oh well. Think I'll go hiking with Harley tomorrow. No crowds and feet on the ground. :-)

Me: Tonight a bunch of us went to Organ Stop Pizza. Haven't been there for years but mom remembers going there with dad (we do too), so we gathered to eat pizza and listen to some entertaining oldies but goodies by a great organist. 

The organist even had the whole place (it was crowded!) doing sing alongs including standing up, hand over chest and belting The Star Spangled Banner. Fun times with Joan, Carol, Paul, Connie, Jeanne (Paul's parents), April, Jason, Bob, Mom and me.

Me: Joan came over today to help me make some living room valances. I found this fabric on clearance a while a go and I love it. After figuring out the pattern and dimensions Joan starting cutting fabric. Harley supervised.

Joan had to leave & I was left to sewing. A couple phone calls to Bob's mom, Pat & I got one valance done. The finished product isn't bad, but it's not really good either (not what I envisioned). So, I think the only solution is to fly Bob's mom out here to save this project.

Me: A surprise flower blooming in our yard! Bob & I came back from our walk this evening & noticed one of our cactus had a gorgeous white flower. Yay!! I love spring flowers!
