Mt. Tallac
June 15, 2018
On Friday Bob and I took Joe & Alana (friends from Phoenix) on a hike up Mt Tallac. They are traveling with their camper and have been staying on the north side of Lake Tahoe.
Mt. Tallac is not a hard hike but it's not easy either... 3,600 feet elevation gain on the walk to the top.
For sure it's a beautiful hike with Tahoe & smaller lakes all around..
The higher we got the rockier the trail.
Higher yet and there was snow!
Bob at the tippy top! 9,735 ft.
Wahoo from me!
YAY US!
The view to the west shows Aloha Lake (above my head) and Watson Lake down below.
The snowy mountains are part of Desolation Wilderness. Bob and I (along with 5 friends) will be backpacking there for 3 days on the Pacific Crest Trail; June 26-28.
Looks Brrrrr (but we're still excited). :-)
Happy the 4 of us connected for a day in Tahoe!
Back down the mountain. 10 miles round trip and hours of fun with friends.
Managed to photograph a few pretty flowers on our trek.
And managed to get a video of the CRAZY wind.
The whole hike wasn't this windy... but some areas were gusty!
We heart Mt. Tallac.
