11/1: Day 2 in the Serengeti...
More giraffes!!!!!
Lanky legs & slow motion running. Video of a girrafe galloping in later posts.
More zebras!
More cheetahs!
More wildebeest!
Hundreds...no thousands of wildebeest!
Massive herds running and running and running.
New today...HIPPOS!
Hippos are funny & lazy. They spend most of their day in the water and graze at night.
We saw cape Buffalo too. They are BIG!
We had a lovely picnic lunch where some Massai Tribe members were selling some jewelry. I bought a couple pretty bracelets.
After lunch it was back on the dirt road in search of more animals!
This was a great watering hole where zebras & wildebeest were drinking.
I need to frame some of these safari photos! :-)
So neat to observe!
These vultures hanging out were pretty cool too. Waiting to feed on a wildebeest caracas.
This looks so Africa. LOVE AFRICA!
My honey!
Me....with no altitude sickness. LOL.
Spying a LION!
Nguvu kama Simba
means: Strong like lion

Bob's favorite Swahili phrase. :-)

Good morning, Serengeti!
It can't get much better than this! Sitting on a lovely bed, watching the sunrise, coffee in hand inside our private canvas tent in the middle of the Serengeti surrounded by giraffe, lions (which we heard last night!), zebras and more. Crazy cool! :-)
Bob and I made our way to the dining tent for more coffee. hahaha.
Breakfast.
Planning today's strategy with Emanuel.
#1: See more animals.

11-14-17

This was us arriving at our tent lodge in the Serengeti National Park.
What an incredible welcome committee! We felt like rock stars.
Thanks guys for the fresh juice, hot towels, smiles and friendly service.
View looking out from the dining & lobby tent.
And to top it off we were the ONLY guests staying at this 11 tent camp.
We kicked up our feet.
We soaked in the sun on the patio.
We enjoyed dinner with a sunset view.
We lounged & got to know Emanuel & the lodge staff better.
Then we were escorted to our individual tents.
Inside our tent...WOW! Love it.
Good-night Serengeti.

10/31: Safari Day 1 continued...
MORE elephants!
We were shocked to see so many and so close!
They crossed the road between our jeep & a couple other jeeps.
Look at that cute BABY elephant!
We really enjoyed watching this family!
From elephants to...
Cheetahs!
Thanks, Emanuel for spotting this spotted pair in the tall grass. :-)
By the way; cheetahs are the fastest animal on earth...61mph!
From cheetahs to...
giraffes!
Such an elegant animal.
We heart giraffes!
Continuing down the road...
Emanuel says he spots something by that tree.
David is ready with his camera...
It's Simba relaxing with a lioness nearby!
Any by another tree...a whole pride of lions & their cubs.
So zuri-sana (amazing)!

Well...I think that's enough animals for 1 day. Off to find our lodge, shower & enjoy dinner with a sunset. FANTASTIC day in the Serengeti. WOW!
