Scott & Shelly are good friends visiting from Ft. Collins, CO. We're so glad they're in town for a few days & staying at the Mini Mansion. We even talked Scott & Shelly into taking a Hot Yoga class with us. They liked it!

The past few months have been hectic, stressful & emotional... First with my mom falling & breaking her hip, her move to a care center plus rehab & getting her settled in new surroundings. Then the loss of my brother, Rod & the sadness/reflection that brings along with hurried travel. Between those life changes we had an wonderful vacation in Australia & New Zealand but as we all know; even good stress effects us in negative ways sometimes. Throw in Christmas, work & home responsibilities & I'm craving CALM. 

All the more reason to RIDE on. This pic is from last Friday but a good reminder to fit in the things we love to do together, take care of ourselves & create a balance in life that feels right & healthy. This will be at the top of my list for 2017.

Bob's "Merry Christmas" in California last night. What a treat for Bob to have a 1/2  day at his folks house. He was able to celebrate Christmas with his mom & dad plus M, Rod, Ro & Ree! I don't have any other photos to share from their night but I know it was fun with a house full of love. I also know it was filled with Nanimo Bars, Chioppino & lots of homemade goodies by Pat!

My "Merry Christmas" in Arizona. Harley & I went to Carol & Paul's for a delicious dinner last night. It was fun to get to know Michael's family better. His parents, grandparents, aunt & uncle celebrated Christmas with the Sorensen's. PS: Michael is April's finance. :-)

I love her touches which are 99% garage sale finds!

Today was a catch up day at home which included a couple trips to Home Depot. Thanks for your help, Harley! We're excited Bob gets home tomorrow! We hope you all had a MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Merry Christmas Eve!!!

And Happy Egg Nog Day! We had our fill of egg nog last night when we joined friends for a Christmas lights ride!

It started at Mark & Heather's home at 5:30 for drinks & appetizers. Once dark we biked through the neighborhood to see all the pretty lights. And there was a mid-way stop at Chris & Fair's home for more snacks & social time.

Marion went with us & there were at least 150 folks including many kids. It was very well organized.

'Twas a great night!! :-)

Bob & I had a little Christmas here today. Thanks to Pat & Bob for sending us a box of festive presents!

We love the new hat that Pat sewed for Bob. LOL! It's actually a steering wheel cover which will come in handy when it's 115 degrees here in Arizona!

And look at this cute "Mini Me". :-) Little Jane is bendable & capable of doing yoga poses. Perfect for me!

I also love my new hippy purse. This & the many thoughtful gifts from Pat & Bob made for smiles, laughs & a happy Christmas celebration. We headed out after opening presents to get an oreo/peppermint blizzard from Dairy Queen. It's a must treat at least once this time of year. :-)

It just wasn't our year to get the tree up or unpack the big boxes of fun holiday decorations. ALL of that I LOVE to do! Instead we'll keep it simple & still enjoy the Christmas season! PS: Aiming to send our Christmas cards on Valentine's Day. :-)

Home again in Arizona...& happy to see our sweet Harley! I brought Harley this Beanie Baby squirrel which she destroyed in 30 minutes (but she enjoyed it while it lasted). :-)

And I brought home this cute dish towel...Harley approves.

Look what I found in mom's closet; my high-school letter jacket! The class of 1985 rocks! Bob, Joan & I laughed hard when I put it on. It's ridiculous but it was tradition for students to sew their track or other sports medals on their letter jacket. I do remember wearing it but not often. It was heavy & would jingle. Oh boy! :-)

Bob, Joan & I went to the Atlantic high school BB game. So glad we did because they won & Jacey (Monte & Emily's youngest) is the assistant coach. Was fun to cheer with Monte, Emily, Janna, Kavan, Riley & Keelan.

Bob flew out for work the next day while Joan & I had another 24 hours to spend with mom. We decorated her room & finished some other projects.

We found this Christmas stocking, wreath & star at an Atlantic thrift store. Looks so cute on mom's room door!

We decorated her little Christmas tree & found the ladder with elves from an Elk Horn thrift store. LOVE it!

Bob, Joan & I feel good about mom's care facility. The staff are so kind to mom & mom is feeling more at home. We are gonna miss mom a lot. Thankful for this time together - so special!

Look who we got to see in Iowa...Kavan & Riley! Yay!!

And Keelan too! Keelan (who is now a 1 year old) loves to be held by Great-grandma Hoegh!

We had some extra days with the kiddos & it was great to play & have that fun time together. 

 We miss having them in Arizona but we are so happy to see them loving Iowa. Janna & Andrew really like their new town, new school & being able to see her family often. Above: showing off our cool tattoos. ;-)
