Me: Foreshadowing…

This is the photo that will be taken tomorrow (5/30/15).
That's my hand & phone on the left & Bob's hand on the right. At this point we are 8 miles into our hike to Supai Village & 3 miles from the blue/green waterfalls of Havasupai!
It's a beautiful place! Photos will be posted in the near future! :-)

Me: Bob got home from his work trip yesterday. That's the good news! :-)
Then Bob got stung by a bee on our ride this morning: Bad news. :-(
I called 911 after he turned red all over & his throat felt bad. Worse news. :-(
Bob used his Epi Pen & the paramedics came quickly: Good news!
The Epi Pen helped & his symptoms started improving: Better news!
Paramedics observed Bob for a while & then cleared him to go home: The best news!
Thanks guys for your quick response!
PS: I swear Bob wears honey cologne because he's the one who gets stung. I never get stung (I'm not allergic). The bees know. Anyway, Bob was pretty wiped out most of the day but is feeling just fine tonight. Wonderful news!

Me: How cute is this photo of Bob's parents?! They sent us these pics from when they were in San Carlos to see the Ford Tri Motor airplane (it's behind them).
It was at the Hiller Aviation Museum. A few others from their Model T club went too. Cool pic with their cars.
And here's the Ford Tri Motor flying above the Golden Gate Bridge. Bob's dad got to go for a ride in it!! Thanks for sharing your photos, Pat & Bob. I wanted to share them too!

Me: Memorial Day…
Honoring those who have made enormous sacrifices for our freedom.
Remembering those we have lost.

Martin: Traditional Thai dancer at the wedding reception.
 Me: Going solo this weekend.
Did a bike ride & then tried a new cafe; Liberty Market. Good coffee, bacon & eggs!
Also spending quality time with Harley.
(L) Walking Harley & showing off my Jamberry nails. (R) My favorite backseat driver!
_______________________________

What are Jamberry nails? Well this pic is from Thursday when Janna gave Abbie & I a manicure with this new craze. Jamberry nails are stick-on designs and so far I really like them. They are supposed to stay on for 2 weeks & they actually look kinda cute on my really short nails.
It was a fun thing to do! Check 'em out: Jamberry Nails

Martin: View from the Big Buddha lookout towards the east coast of the island.
Me: Bob made me very jealous today when he texted this photo from Seattle. It's our favorite Greek yogurt stand (discovered on our recent trip to Seattle together). The stand is right outside Pike's Market Place and it is thee best!! Mmmm.
Bob had a 24 hour layover in Seattle so he hit the ground running (& biking). He used the share a bike program that we also used when we were there.
He decided to take a ferry boat to West Seattle. It was a chilly day (but dry!).
Bob's highlight was a selfie with a Bald Eagle who was just hanging out behind him.
The Bald Eagle even found a crab to eat (pretty cool)!
And this was Bob's spot for some delicious clam chowder. Glad he had a good day but I sure wish I was there with him.
Bob did point out that there were NO tulips for sale at Pike's Market Place. The tulip season is apparently over but they still had plenty of beautiful flowers to sell. It makes me realize how lucky we were to see all those gorgeous tulips at the Public Market & in Skagit Valley during their Tulip Festival.  Great city with awesome things to do & see!

Do you know where this is going?!
Abbie helped me work on my costume pants. I picked up the clothes at Goodwill & it needed altering. Pat (my mother-in-law) will be proud since we even got the sewing machine to work! :-)
And then Abbie & I were off to Kickboxing!!!!
Abbie was HULK HOGAN! Love it. :-)
And I was THE KARATE KID!
"Wax on, wax off." ;-)
It was "Throwback Thursday" class & needless to say...we got into it!
Kicking & throwing punches in character was a fun time!!

PS: It was also Abbie's birthday (5/21). Happy Birhtday, Abbie #27!

Martin: Want to be a line man in Phuket?
Me: "Quit BUG'n me!" This is how many bugs I killed with my right shoulder alone! :-/

Bob & I rode to S. Mtn this morning & we ran into a few swarms of knats (particularly along the canal). We still had a great ride (we just kept our mouths shut)!! :-)

MartinThai elephants employed in the tourism trade.
Me: Larry, Me & Jay in Leadville, CO (August 2014) after the two of them finished the Leadville 100 mountain bike race. Bob & I had gone to watch them & some other friends cross the finish line of this epic event! They were both beaming with happiness after conquering this long, tough ride!
It is with such sadness that Bob & I attended Jay's funeral this past weekend. Jay passed away in April in a freak accident. We & his close friends are missing this wonderful guy who always brought his contagious smile wherever he went. He leaves behind a beautiful wife & two wonderful daughters. His celebration of life ceremony shed more light on just how amazing Jay was. He wasn't just a great athlete who was fun to be around, but he was a present & proud father, a loving & loyal husband, a successful business man who was respected & involved in charities - particularly fallen warriors. He is also a giver of life. From organ donation Jay saved or improved the lives of 7 other people in need.

One lesson from Jay: "Always have the Heart of a Champion"
Jay was a champion & we will strive to have the same heart he did for others.
