Martin: Artwork (Blood Swept Lands and Seas of Red) unfolding in the moat around the Tower of London. Each of the ceramic poppies represents a British or colonial soldier killed in World War 1. There were around 60,000 Australian soldiers killed in WW1, just over half the number of Americans. Nearly 900,000 poppies had been planted by the Armistice Day commemorations.

Today is also the last day of my iPhone photography class. I had a great time & learned a lot from our instructor, Lisa. It was extra fun doing the class with my sister-in-law!

Hate it's over…what will I take a photo of tomorrow?! I need a "word of the day" ;-)

Martin: London Eye ferris wheel. That's one hell of a big bicycle wheel.

Me: My View from South Mountain Towers.

The road to this lookout point at S. Mtn has been closed since August 2014. The road had been washed out from the intense rain & flooding Phoenix experienced then. South Mountain is popular for cycling, running & hiking so when the main road reopened last Friday our community of cycling friends were giddy. We've missed this ride and now have a renewed appreciation for it!

The ducks cooperated so my week is off to a great start! ;-)

Me: I have a lot of favorite things but one of my favorite things to do on Saturday morning is to search for garage sales! I love bargains! Mom & I found an aluminum folding camping table for $5, a tin pail, spring doilies, colorful clothes and even a FREE wood filing cabinet that I plan to resell on Craig's list.

Don't think you can see Harley in the 1st photo above so here she is…happily riding along to garage sales even if there isn't much room for her with all our finds. She's such a good shopping pal!

The "Fish Thrower". You pick out a salmon & they throw it to the guy behind the counter to wrap it up. How fun! :-)

Mom pulling the needle & thread through the fabric of a onesie . She's embroidering it for her 31st grandchild due in March. Thankful to have mom (87 yrs) staying with us for a few months & thankful she can still do some embroidery.

I love the art from Austrailia (a gift from M & Rod 3 yrs ago - Thank you!). Always a reminder of our time with Martin & his family & the beautiful land we toured in 2012. And I love our funky wheel wall. Inexpensive art & a reminder to ride our bike (haha). :-)

Here's us on the Hieroglyphics Trail.

Hieroglyphics or Petroglyphs. There is a difference but mostly means the same…language in pictures or symbols. I believe only Petroglyphs are on rocks while Hieroglyphics can be letter symbols and on paper - as well as on rocks.
