Last night's pics from the US Open. Bob flew into NYC & was able to get a free ticket to watch the men's match between Kyrgios (rated 60th) & Robredos (rated 16th). 

Bob said, "It was a great match! The youngster, Kyrgios clobbered Robredos in the 1st set. Kyrgios closed out one game with 3 consecutive 135mph aces & the place went crazy. But experience won out. Robredos won the 2nd set then broke his will by winning the 3rd in a tie break. He then easily won the 4th."

Cool experience for Bob! I hope to get to the US Open with him sometime. Bob & I have played a good bit of tennis together & always thought going to the US Open would be fun.

Me: Yesterday's 13 miles run along Tempe town lake. Best time of the day when the sun is just coming up, the air is fresh(er), :-) and only a few people are up. Love the paddle boarder on the water, the Blue Heron on the boat ramp and Howard running on the path.

Me: Well after the wedding comes the honeymoon! :-)

After our Tahoe wedding weekend Bob & I flew to Ohahu, Hawaii. We had a great time snorkeling, playing sand volleyball, eating pineapple

 & sightseeing all over the island.

Surfing photo at Waikiki Beach! First of all, look at the waves (there are none), secondly; look at how long our board is! I know we were beginners but were we really THAT bad at surfing to need a board so huge. :-( Oh well, the week in Hawaii was a blast!

Bob brought me 15 red roses yesterday & they are looking even prettier today! We unexpectedly got to spend our anniversary day together (Bob flew in late Wednesday night & back out Thursday night). Our 15th wedding anniversary was celebrated with a bike ride in the morning & eating at a new restaurant for lunch. Perfect.

Happy 15th Wedding Anniversary to US! :-)

15 years ago today we had THEE best day! We got married on top of Heavenly Mountain overlooking Lake Tahoe!

These were the invitations I drew & water colored. We had a small intimate wedding of close family plus Bob's best friend & my best girlfriend.

Once off the tram we all walked a 1/2 mile to Newman's Point. Mom & I wore tennis shoes & carried our "fancy" shoes for the ceremony. :-)

And here's our gorgeous wedding spot! It was such a lovely day. We had a local guitarist sing and play background music & my brother-in-law, Paul married us. It was perfect and all very special!

Me with my father. I'm so thankful dad was there to share our wedding day! I have such wonderful memories of seeing him playfully hike the mountain trails & enjoy time with us & family in beautiful Tahoe! I miss him dearly.

I married my best friend on August 28, 1999. Lucky me! We have been blessed with 15 amazing years that were filled with both adventurous highs and devastating lows. I feel like we make a good team filled with love, respect, compassion and drive. I'm very thankful to be sharing each day with you, Bob! I love you!!

Me: Our personalized license plate arrived (1st one ever!). We picked "See Jane" out of a few goofy ideas. We also ordered some car magnets & can't decide if we should put just "RUN", "BIKE" or the bicycle girl on the back (or all of them)? Such important decisions (heehee). :-) Anyway, kinda fun. Remember reading the books "Fun with Dick & Jane"?!

Me: Trash Bag Challenge. 

Bob & I are gonna clean house this week! We are each filling a bag of clothes from our closets, another bag for misc Goodwill items , one bag for stuff to sell on Craig's list & a bag for just trash. We have the week to fill 'em up. Anyone need a trash bag too?

Me: Bob flew into New York City last night. This photo shows the Freedom Tower built where the World Trade Towers were.

Today Bob had a few hours to explore. The Unisphere was built as the centerpiece of the 1964 Worlds Fair. Bob said his parents went to that Worlds Fair on their honeymoon 50 years ago! Maybe they stood at this exact spot and took a picture.

Bob went to the US OPEN at Flushing Meadows!

 Today was Kid's Day so no tournament play, BUT Bob was able to watch the #1 rated player in the world, Novak Djokovic. Djokovic was having hitting practice and Bob had a great time watching! Nice 16 hour visit in NYC! Next time I want to go. :-)

Me: Beautiful morning for a 13 mile run along Tempe Town Lake. Last night's rain brought lovely cooler temps at 5:30am.

Afterwards, Harley said it was a perfect morning for a little girl time over coffee & a doggie bagel. She was right - we had a great time hanging out at Einsteins.

Now Harley said it's a good time for a nap. I think she's right again! ;-)

Me: Our friend, Rich on top of Mt. Culebra last week. This was his 54th and final 14'er that completes the official list of Colorado peaks over 14,000 feet! Awesome job, Rich! 

  This is Rich on his FIRST 14'er in 1987! Windom Peak 14,082 ft.
He was 25 years old and did not have the goal then of summiting all the 14'ers in Colorado. He loved hiking & rock climbing so over the years he just naturally checked off a lot of mountains. The last few years he made a push to complete the list.

Congratulations, Rich! All 54 Colorado 14'ers - CHECK! That is quite an accomplishment!! Bob and I have had the pleasure of doing many of our CO 14'ers with Rich and we always have a blast together. PS: I was already home in Arizona when Rich climbed Mt. Culebra but I asked him to take photos with the signs I made. :-) 

He even held up this sign for Bob - whose birthday was the day of Rich's climb - August 15th. Thanks, Rich! Looking forward to Rich doing some repeat summits as Bob and I start checking off our CO 14'er list! ;-)

Me: American Airlines Flight Academy in Dallas. Bob has 3 days of recurrent training here. 

Yesterday was classroom hours & water safety. Today was classroom and simulator training. Tomorrow is simulator testing. Good luck, Bob!

Me: Biking in rain OK. Biking in lightning NOT OK. Home again, safe & wet. Watching it pour out the window NICE!   #biking #lightning #rain #allwashedup

What I posted on instagram & Facebook at 7:45am this morning.

Not long after there were many road closures (including I-17) for flash flooding. I turned on the TV to catch this elderly woman being rescued from her van. She got stuck when she tried to cross a flooding intersection. She is very lucky & you could see how shaken up she was later. :-(

Other than that the rain is great!
