MeMom busy embroidering lovely pillowcases.
The above photo also shows a new purchase (besides our floor). Do you know what it is?
The cucumber cacti started blooming today! <3
Cactus wren, how do you land on those spines?
"What's that you say, Harley?! Those are standing lenticular clouds and the rain is coming?"

Bob, Mom, and I heeded Harley's warning and headed home after a lovely evening hike.
There is a 90% chance of rain starting tonight and lasting all day tomorrow. That's likely to gonna put a damper on our Lifetime Fitness training camp as we're suppose to lead a bike outing in the morning.

Me: Best Buddy Award.

After Harley & I do our morning run, I go in the gym & Harley patiently waits in the car. Such a great pal! Gonna hate it when the weather is hot & she can't run errands with me.

Me: Bob's on reserve in Dallas with no flight assignment. He spent time with his friends & host family, Chris, Abbie, Owen & Peyton. Today was Owen's 12th birthday!
They all enjoyed an entertaining dinner out to celebrate his special day.

Me: While we were busy with Bob's sister & family last week my brother, Monte & Emily were visiting Janna, Andrew & kids. We were so glad they stopped over to say hi to us on Thursday.  We had fun showing them all the house improvements (Monte last saw our place before we had taken down any interior walls and everything was scary messy). They had a great week hanging out with their kids and grandkids.

Me: Giant Jenga!
Today was another nice day with the Salsa Family. We hit a few garage sales and played games in the yard.

Ree being very careful placing her Jenga block on the tower.
Timber, Ro!
Ree with the bean bag toss. Ro and Ree teamed up with Bob and M for a good time this afternoon.

6pm and it's just Harley and I at home. The Salsa family + Bob are at the airport; Bob's flying to Dallas and the rest are going back to CA. We had a wonderful time all week and are so thankful R, M, R & M made the effort to visit us in AZ. Love you all and love the memories we made!

Me: Blue skies + blooming desert = perfect day to hike.
We hiked up mountains.
We hiked down rocks.
We hiked to the top and celebrated!
The girls pointing to where we came from...FAR!
The girls and I hiked back down and around 3 peaks to meet up with the rest of our crew. Proud of Ro & Ree for being great mountaineers. We had fun!
The rest of the day was filled with games, relaxing, and touring. The evening was pizza and smores by the fire.
More S'mores please!
Another great day with family!

Me: It was a cowboy kind of day!
The 6 of us went to Ponderosa Stables to rent some horses.
Ro & Ree are excited to get on their horses!
The cowgirls are ready! By the way....look at their perfect riding form. That is no accident as the girls take horse riding lessons once a week.
Ride 'em cowboy! It really was perfect weather to be on the trails in South Mountain and fun to imagine what it might be like if we were riding in the wild, wild west.
Our cowboy crew. :-)
Back at the ranch...
why the long faces, fellas?
The girls like to climb. :-) Love this pic!

After our trail ride we had a picnic lunch at The Farm (a cute outdoor restaurant nearby). Then M and I were off for massages (brilliant planning after riding a horse). The guys took the girls to the water park. They had non-stop action on the water slides, lazy river and wave pool.
Tonight we enjoyed a western dinner at Rustler's Rooste. T-bone steaks, city lights, Horny the bull, cotton candy and county dancing.
What a day....yee haw!!

Me: The girls are here and they already took Harley hiking.
Ro & Ree were anxious to try the water on a sunny, warm Arizona day. They got completely in. Brrr, that water was chilly.
Then it was a game of bags. Rod and Ro took on Bob and Ree.
Ree & Bob got the win. It was a really nice afternoon hanging out with family. Pool time, yard games, a little Sochi Olympics and some chocolate eating. Yep, M & Rod surprised us with a box of See's chocolate & I didn't hesitate to open it so we could sample some!
Our own Olympic athletes practicing their handstands. Tonight we ate at Aunt Chiladas. Tomorrow we have horse back riding, water park & massages to look forward to.
Good night!
