Me: Modeling my t-shirt scarf. I like how it turned out and it's a conversation piece with the panels displaying things we've done or places we've been.

Me: Telluride 2005

I didn't get a photo taken today so it's a blast from the past instead. Here's Bob and I on the slopes of Telluride. I used to lead a club ski trip here each year. We'd take a bus from Phoenix and stay in the cool little mountain town for 3 days. Fun times!

Me: Sunrise in Ontario sent from Bob. He gets home tonight. Yeah!

11-27-11

Me: 2:30a.m. Ugh.

Got to bed last night at midnight. Woke at 2:30, 3:00 & 4:00am and then got up at 4:30am for the day. :-( No naps either. I'm heading to bed early tonight and hope to feel recovered tomorrow.

11-26-11

Me: Spent the evening outside Elevate Coffee selling some of my crafts. It was a nice evening to hang out but the hours were past my bedtime: 7pm-10pm. Elevate Coffee has a few craft tables displayed each weekend from now until Christmas and I thought I'd give it a try. I sold some sets of my cactus cards, a few kleenex holders, a couple tea caddies, and some reindeer noses too. It was an enjoyable night...I'm just a bit overtired now (posting this at 11:17pm - ouch). Good night!

Me: Black Friday jog with Harley.

Harley and I ran 12 miles this morning and avoided the malls. Since then we've been taking it easy. We picked Bob up at the Scottsdale Airport this afternoon (he unexpectedly got a layover in Phoenix tonight - yeah!) and will drive him back to the airport in the morning.

Me: Thanksgiving Day tradition is to ride to the towers. We had about 30 friends gather at 5:30am to ride in the dark and view the sunrise from the top of South Mountain. The group enjoyed bagels and coffee at Heidi's house afterwards. Gorgeous morning, great friends. Happy Thanksgiving! Much to be thankful for!

Martin: Baby is more than half mum's size and usually get transported around this way but not for much longer, judging by the size.
Me: Reindeer Noses

I've been busy making crafts in Santa's workshop. :-) I found this cute idea for Reindeer Noses on Pinterest. I drew the reindeer tag and packaged the chocolate reindeer noses including Rudolph's! I'm planning to sell them this weekend along with some other crafts at our church's coffee shop boutique. Do you think anyone will buy 'em?! If not, Bob said he can think of a way to dispose of them.

Martin: This ring-tailed possum and her baby came up to the back door last night just after the rain had stopped. The cat knew something was outside and was looking through the glass door into the garden. Mum did not care about the wet grass but junior did and tried to hop across the lawn.
Me: Lily and Harley.

I'm dog sitting Janna & Andrew's dog for a couple days while they are in Iowa. Lily is a BIG dog but very gentle. Harley is a bit intimidated by her size but they are getting along well.

11-21-11

Martin: This is a piece of Jarrah and is a common native of Western Australia. It's about 45mm thick at the moment. Adrian is going to use it for the top of a hall table that he will construct at school next year for wood technology. He wet the surface to bring out the grain. We are lucky to have such a range of timbers to choose from in Aus. 'Jarrah' is the Aboriginal name for this eucalyptus and it looks very similar to Honduras mahogany when it is finished.
Me: Evening stroll around the golf course with our stocking caps on. Love the chilly nights!

11-20-11

Martin: How would you like to play tennis on this? It was not laid on a concrete base and the ground subsided due to the creek at the rear. Daniel had to play a match on the court next door.
Me: 10 of us went to Devil's Canyon to hike today. It was another pretty Arizona day and nice to cover some new ground. Devil's Canyon is near Superior, AZ (about a 1 hour drive east of Phoenix).

11-19-11

Martin: The removed sewer pipes replaced at last... well the ones that came out mostly in one piece.
Me: Biking South Mountain trails this morning. Seven of us started at 7am & three finished. It was a long and pretty ride. Cool temps, just right for biking.

11-17-11

Martin: Visited the new Ikea store in Sydney that just opened in the first week of November next to the airport. Closer than the other one and a whole lot bigger.
Me: Our garden has been growing better than expected (we really didn't think we'd get anything to grow). The veggies were getting crowded in the two 1/2 wine barrels so Bob transplanted some of them into other pots. Hope they will continue to thrive. The garden has been a fun endeavor for us.

11-16-11

Martin: The doggies at the home where I was painting.
Me: I'm making a scarf...out of old t-shirts. I have a drawer full of old t-shirts that I won't throw or give away (because they have some meaning to me), but I never wear them. Well, I think I can finally put them to good use. Ha, not sure yet. Stay tuned for the finished product. In the meantime I've made a mess of our living room. :-)

PS: Notice Harley in the background. She's clearly exhausted from helping.

Me: Harley dig'n a hole in the desert. She was convinced a bunny was hiding under this rock but she never found it. Poor Harley.

11-13-11

Me: Wendy joined Harley and I for our evening walk. We hiked to the top of Marcos De Niza and looked all over the valley with the clear blue skies. The rain we had last night really freshened everything up. In this photo we're looking east and you can see the Mini Mansion. It's 6 houses in from the right side of the frame: a little single level home next to the desert.

11-12-11

Me: Harley and I just got back from our evening walk. It was a beautiful time of day with the sun starting to go down. The golf course is so green and is striking next to the brown desert.

Wooden case Yahtzee game. Brand new in plastic: $3
Flower vase with scalloped top from Crystal Clear : $1
Flowers: FREE from our front yard. :-)

11-10-11

Me: Deer Valley Highschool football game. April's boyfriend plays corner. It was an exciting playoff game but they lost. :-(

Martin: Finn feeling the heat.

Me: Photo from yesterday evening's walk. Bob left today for work so it's just Harley and I around here for the week.

Me: Hiking in our South Mountain backyard with Harley.

Me: Eating at our favorite frozen yogurt shop: Orange Leaf.

As you can see the outdoor seating is right next to the parking lot. Not very scenic but that should tell you how good the yogurt is! :-)

11-6-11

Martin: Happy Birthday, Martin!!!
Martin's birthday was on Friday, November 4th.

Me: Bob, Harley, Bob, Pat, & I on our morning walk.

Bob's parents left for California today. We always have a good time when they visit and are thankful for their help with chores, chow and crazy crafts!

My brother and sis-in-law flew home yesterday. It was such a nice week with them too! I enjoyed some special sunrise runs with Nancy in the desert. Curt and Nancy are now back in chilly Des Moines.
